The Experience

The drive west from Ushuaia reaches the park after 14 km, and from there the minibus covers more than 40 km of the park's main route with a guide. You'll stop at Verde Lagoon, then walk about 15 minutes to Lapataia Bay to see where the landscape opens to the coast. The road continues to the end of National Route 3, the southernmost highway in Argentina, where you can photograph the marker and the bay beyond it. On the way back, a short walk takes you to Roca Lake, where you stop for photos and to use the visitor center facilities.

Between the major stops, the guide points out beaver dams and peatland — the vegetation and wildlife that define this part of Patagonia. Ensenada Bay includes a visit to the world's southernmost post office, a 15-minute walk with time to send a postcard or just stand at the edge of the continent. Winter closures affect access to some sections, so confirm availability when you book. If you want to extend the day, the End of the World Train runs as a separate option — a one-hour ride on the route convicts once took to gather firewood, bookable alongside the park tour.

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you don't arrange transport into the park yourself. The tour runs four to five hours total. Infants sit on an adult's lap; the pace suits all fitness levels, though the walks are short and mostly flat.
