The experience

The evening starts on the water. You board the Zambezi Explorer and cruise the upper Zambezi River for two hours as the sun descends, passing small river islands and mopane forest while the spray of Victoria Falls drifts across the water. The Zambezi is the fourth-longest river in Africa and the largest flowing into the Indian Ocean. This stretch runs through Zambezi National Park, which spreads across 40 kilometres of riverfront and covers 56,000 hectares shared with Victoria Falls National Park. Hippos, elephants, crocodiles and kudus move through the park, and you may spot them from the boat. Canapes are freshly prepared onboard, and beverages flow throughout the cruise.

Once the sun sets and the sky darkens, you head back to Pure Africa Waterfront for the second half of the evening. Dinner at The Eatery is a three-course meal served al fresco under a star-studded sky. On arrival, you gather around a fire-pit, then follow lanterns to your table on the riverbank. The menu features African-infused dishes prepared with high-quality ingredients, each course paired with your drink of choice. The roar of the distant falls, the grunting of hippos and the call of the fiery-necked nightjar provide the soundtrack.

Hotel pickup and drop-off in Victoria Falls are included, as are all beverages during the cruise. The two options differ by deck (Luxury or Signature), so you choose the level of comfort that suits your evening. Zambezi National Park fees are paid separately at check-in.
