The experience
The tour opens with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River on arrival day, where you watch the African light fade over the water with canapés and drinks served on deck. The spray and islands frame the view as the light turns golden. This sets the rhythm for the next four days, each one built around a different angle on the falls and the wildlife around them.
Day two takes you across the Kazungula border into Botswana for a full day in Chobe National Park. You start at 7 a.m. with a morning boat cruise along the Chobe River, where elephants, buffalo and other large animals come to drink. The river is where the biggest concentrations gather. After lunch at a riverside hotel, you switch to a safari vehicle for an afternoon game drive through the park itself, then return to the border for the transfer back to Victoria Falls.
The third day is a private guided tour of Victoria Falls from both sides. Your guide walks you through the Zimbabwean rainforest first, stopping at viewpoints to see the falls, feel the spray and hear the roar of water hitting the gorge. You then cross into Zambia for the same experience from the opposite bank: the perspective changes completely, and the guide explains the geography and history of both sides. The walk takes about five hours total.
Day four splits into two: a 15-minute helicopter flight that circles the falls multiple times, giving an aerial view most visitors never get, and an evening at Boma Restaurant with a buffet of traditional Zimbabwean dishes (crocodile tail, grilled game meats, stews, vegetarian options) paired with a drum show and live dance. You're picked up at 9 a.m. for the flight and again at 6:30 p.m. for dinner. On the final morning, you're transferred to the airport based on your flight time.
