Step-by-step itinerary
Guided walking safari and Falls tour
- Join small-group walking safari
- Spot wildlife in Zambezi National Park
- Walk through rainforest spray zone
- Visit best viewpoints of Victoria Falls
- Learn about geology and history
The experience
The route starts in the bush. Instead of walking directly to the entrance like every other tour, you move through Zambezi National Park with your guide, where wildlife sightings are common, though not guaranteed. This approach means you reach the Falls on foot rather than arriving with the tour buses, and the walk itself becomes part of the experience rather than a transfer to it.
Once you enter the rainforest created by the Falls' constant spray, the landscape changes completely. Lush vegetation and bird species thrive in this rare ecosystem that exists nowhere else in the region. Your guide takes you along clearly marked paths to the best viewpoints, where you stand in front of the gorge itself (the largest sheet of falling water on Earth), and see the mist and rainbows rising above it. The guide shares what the geology tells you and how the surrounding nature depends on the spray.
The whole experience runs about two hours. You'll want a raincoat or poncho because the spray reaches the paths, and you'll carry bottled water. Park entry fees are not included and vary by nationality. You pay them when you arrive. Small groups keep the pace manageable and the viewpoints from feeling crowded.
What’s included
