The experience
The drive starts the moment you leave your hotel: Victoria Falls Town sits inside the national park itself, so wildlife viewing begins immediately. Your guide navigates by four-wheel drive through Victoria Falls National Park and Zambezi National Parks, covering the river's 40km frontage and the surrounding mopane woodland and savannah. The landscape is what makes the sightings possible: open enough to spot animals at distance, dense enough in places to shelter the predators that rarely show themselves.
You'll watch for the herds (sable, elephant, giraffe, zebra and buffalo are the reliable sightings), and stay alert for the rarer ones. Lion, leopard and cheetah do live here, though encounters are uncommon. Rhinoceros, once native to Southern Africa, is now confined to high-security parks only and won't appear on this drive. The guide speaks English and knows where the animals move through the day, so timing and route matter as much as luck.
Bottled water and snacks travel with you, so you're not managing thirst or hunger while scanning the bush. The three-hour option lets you cover the main territory. The full-day version gives you more ground and more chances to find the animals that move deeper into the park.

What animals will I actually see on a Victoria Falls game drive?
Sable, elephant, giraffe, zebra and buffalo are the herds you can expect to spot. Lion, leopard and cheetah live in the parks but are rarely seen. Rhinoceros is not present. The species is now confined to high-security reserves elsewhere in Southern Africa.
How far is Victoria Falls National Park from the town centre?
Victoria Falls National Park is just 5km from the town centre, and because the town itself sits inside the park, your drive begins as soon as you leave your hotel.
What kind of vehicle is used for the game drive?
A four-wheel drive vehicle navigates the terrain through both Victoria Falls and Zambezi National Parks, allowing access to the wildlife-rich mopane woodland and savannah across the river frontage.
Can I choose between a morning drive and a full-day option?
Yes. You can book a half-day drive, a morning game drive, or a full-day option at checkout. The longer option covers more ground and gives you additional time to spot the animals that move deeper into the parks.
