The experience

The tour begins with hotel pickup and a drive to the White Sand Dunes, where you arrive in time to watch either sunrise or sunset from the top. Once there, you can ride quad-bikes across the dunes or slide down the slopes on a sandboard. Both are optional add-ons you arrange at checkout. The Red Dunes come next, with gentler slopes than the White Dunes and a striking reddish-brown color that makes for strong photographs.

The route then passes through a fishing village where you watch the daily work: boats lining up to depart, the morning catch being hauled ashore, and women sorting through the day's haul. It's a working harbor, not a staged stop. The final stop is Suoi Tien, a small stream that cuts through the red dunes and resembles a miniature version of a red canyon. After that, the driver returns you to your hotel. The whole outing runs about four hours.

The jeep is private to your group (either one, two to three, or four passengers), so you set the pace and the stops. An English-speaking driver is included. Quad-bike rides and sandboarding cost extra and are booked separately. Meals and personal expenses are not covered.
