The experience

The Jeep picks you up at your hotel in Mui Ne or Ham Tien Ward and heads first to Fairy Stream, where you walk barefoot for about an hour through water and colored sand while spotting local birds and wildlife. From there the route moves to a traditional fishing village to watch the rhythm of local life, then on to the White Sand Dunes: the core of the tour. Here you have roughly an hour to decide: ride an ATV across the dunes if you want the rush, or walk and photograph the landscape at your own pace. The ATV option costs extra and you settle it with the operator on arrival. Either way, the tour continues to the Red Sand Dunes for the sunset (or sunrise, depending on your departure time), where sandboards are available to rent locally if you want to slide down.

Your guide speaks English and travels with you the whole way in a comfortable Jeep. Water is provided throughout. Hotel drop-off is included at the end. The tour lasts about five hours total and is built for all fitness levels, so whether you're after adrenaline or a gentler exploration of the landscape, the structure accommodates both.

What is Fairy Stream like when we get there?

Fairy Stream is a shallow water channel running through sand of different colors. You walk barefoot along it for about an hour, taking photos and watching for local birds and wildlife in the surrounding landscape.

Does the tour include pickup from my hotel?

Yes, the Jeep picks you up at your hotel in Mui Ne Center or Ham Tien Ward Areas, or at a meeting point if you prefer. Drop-off at your hotel is also included at the end of the tour.

What time does the tour run, and how long is it?

You choose either a sunrise or sunset departure when you book. The full tour lasts about five hours from pickup to drop-off.

Is sandboarding included, or do I need to pay extra?

Sandboarding at the Red Sand Dunes is not included. Local operators rent sandboards on site for around 50,000 Vietnamese dong per board if you want to try it.
