The experience

The boat departs at 8:15am from the port after pickup from your hotel in Da Nang or Hoi An. You'll spend the morning exploring Cham Island's Beach Village, starting with the Marine Conservation area, where you can see the residential quarters and European boats, then visit the two-story pagoda and the Tan Hiep settlement. At 10:30am the boat moves to Bai Chong beach, where you enter the water to snorkel among the sea creatures. The reef here is the main draw. It's where the itinerary places the snorkeling stop, and it's shallow enough for the time you have.

Lunch happens at noon, followed by three hours of free time. You can rest on the beach, swim, sunbathe, hike, or join folk games and entertainment activities if you want them. At 2:30pm the boat returns to Cua Dai for a final stop to buy souvenirs before heading back to the port. The full day runs about ten hours from pickup to drop-off.

An English-speaking guide travels with the group, and the speedboat is the transport for the island portion. The tour suits anyone comfortable in the water and able to board a boat. It's open to all fitness levels. Lunch and the boat ride are included. Drinks and personal expenses are separate.
