The experience
The speedboat leaves Cua Dai harbour at 9:15 and reaches the first snorkeling site, Dai Island, by 10:15. You'll spend about an hour in the water here among soft coral and colorful fish, then move to Tai Island for a second hour-long dive where hard coral reefs and a wider variety of fish are the draw. Between the two sites, you feed the fish yourself, a hands-on moment most larger tours skip because of the time pressure. By 1 p.m. you're back on the beach with a BBQ lunch and fruit waiting, and the boat heads back to Da Nang or Hoi An by 3:30.
The gear (snorkel, mask, fins and life jacket) comes with you. The guide speaks English and knows where the best-preserved reefs are. The operator says they pick the spots specifically to avoid the crowded tourist zones and focus on actual coral and fish instead of temple visits or photo stops that eat into water time.
