The experience
The day starts at the Chan May port entrance, where your guide and driver collect you and head south toward the coast. Lang Co beach and Lap An lagoon come first, offering views of verdant mountains and clear water before the route turns inland toward Marble Mountains. This cluster of five limestone and marble hills, named after the five elements, sits south of Da Nang city and holds cave entrances, tunnels and Buddhist sanctuaries built into the rock. You explore the main caves to see a Buddha statue carved in the Cham style, and the area is known for stone sculpture and stone-cutting crafts that have shaped the region for centuries.
After lunch at a local restaurant, the tour moves to Hoi An Ancient Town, a trading port dating back to the fifteenth century and a major stop on the Silk Road. Today it functions as a retail center built on traditional artisanship, especially in clothes and leather goods. The day closes at Lady Buddha on the Son Tra peninsula, a 67-meter statue of the Goddess of Mercy standing on a blooming lotus and facing the city. Locals believe her presence has protected Da Nang from typhoons. Fishers visit to pray before setting sail. The statue sits as part of a triangle formed with two other temples in Ba Na Hills and Marble Mountains, and the view of Da Nang city spreads below.
