The experience

The cruise departs at midday from Emeraude Café with a welcome drink and buffet lunch. By early afternoon you're at Ti Top Island, where you can swim in the bay or climb to the summit for panoramic views of the limestone peaks. The real activity starts in the late afternoon: at Pearl Village you have the option to kayak through the water (a surcharge applies), then move to the sundeck for French crêpes, Happy Hour, and a cooking class where you make spring rolls while watching the sunset. Dinner follows, and if you're up for it, night squid fishing runs until late, or you can stay aboard and watch a film instead.

Morning comes early. Tea, coffee and cakes are served at six, with an optional yoga class on deck. By seven-thirty you're on a guided boat tour into Sung Sot Cave, the massive limestone cavern that anchors the second day. The cave itself is the draw: a relic site with enough space and formations to justify the early wake-up. After the cave tour you return to the ship for brunch, then check out around nine. The return journey to port passes Hon Trong Mai, Dinh Huong and more limestone mountains, docking back at Emeraude Café by late morning.

Overnight accommodation is in a standard room aboard the cruise ship, and you choose between Superior and Deluxe cabins at checkout. The itinerary suits all fitness levels, though the Ti Top Island hike is optional: swimming is the alternative.
