The day starts with pickup from your Hanoi hotel or a meeting point at Tuan Chau Marina, depending on your location and the time of year. Once aboard, you'll get a welcome drink and cold handkerchief before the boat heads out past Fighting Chicken and Incense Burner Islets: the limestone formations that define Ha Long Bay. Lunch happens while you're cruising, so you're eating and watching the scenery at once.
By early afternoon you're at Bo Hon Island, where you hike into Surprise Cave to see the stalactites and stalagmites that make it one of the bay's most photographed spots. Then comes the kayaking: you paddle or take a bamboo boat through Luon Cave into a lagoon surrounded by limestone walls. The kind of moment that justifies the early start. Do I need to arrange my own transfer from Hanoi, or is it included?
Transfer from Hanoi hotels to Tuan Chau Marina is optional and costs US$25 per person round trip. If you don't book it, you'll meet the boat at Lot 38, Tuan Chau Marina. Note that some Hanoi streets ban bus pickups between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m., so the operator may ask you to come to a meeting point depending on where you're staying.

What happens if there are fewer than 35 guests on the boat?
Lunch switches from a buffet to a set menu when the group is smaller than 35 people. Everything else stays the same: same stops, same activities, same duration.
