Stone steps into caves, a white goddess overlooking the sea, temple grounds at the summit

The Experience

The Marble Mountains get their name from the five limestone hills that represent the five elements—fire, wood, metal, water and earth. You climb stone steps carved into the rock to reach caves, grottos and a Buddhist pagoda, each one set into the hillside. Between the caves, you walk through the stone village where sculptors shape marble into statues, bowls and decorative pieces by hand. The summit opens onto views across Da Nang and the surrounding coast.

From there, the tour moves to Son Tra Peninsula and the Lady Buddha, a white statue 67 meters tall that stands at the entrance to Linh Ung temple. The temple itself is one of the largest Buddhist temples in Vietnam, built into the peninsula's heights. You get the view of Da Nang city and the harbor from Monkey Mountain before the driver brings you back to your hotel. Hotel pickup and drop-off, bottled water, entrance tickets and an English-speaking guide are all included.
