The experience
The cable car ride up to Ba Na Hills takes you from the lowlands to 1,487 meters in a single ascent. The elevation shift is what creates the "four seasons in one day" the resort is known for. The guide meets you in Da Nang and handles all transfers in an air-conditioned vehicle, so the morning is just arrival and the climb. Once at the top, the landscape changes noticeably: cooler air, different vegetation, a resort complex built across the mountainside with amusement park rides, gardens and walkways threading through it all.
The Golden Hand Bridge is the centerpiece stop: a massive stone hand emerging from the mountainside, supporting a walkway where you stand between the palm and fingers.
