The drive out of Da Nang takes you through countryside that opens up as the road climbs toward Ba Na Hills. Pickup from your hotel runs 30 to 45 minutes depending on where you're staying in the city center, and then you're heading into the foothills with your guide — someone who knows the place well enough to point out what matters and what doesn't. The cable car station sits at the base, and you'll have a few minutes to settle in before boarding what is actually the longest non-stop single-track cable car in the world. It's not a quick ride either; you're suspended over the mountainside for long enough to feel the altitude shift, and the views start changing as soon as you leave the ground.

Once you're at the top, the Golden Bridge is what stops you. It's a pedestrian walkway suspended between two enormous stone hands rising out of the hillside — the kind of thing that photographs don't quite prepare you for because the scale is wrong in pictures. You get free time to walk it, take photos, stand in the middle and just look around. After that, the itinerary branches: Le Jardin D'Amour is a garden space worth a wander, and Linh Ung Pagoda sits at nearly 1,500 meters above sea level on a quiet spot with an old three-needled pine tree that's endangered and protected in Vietnam. Your guide will explain the history as you move through, but you're not being herded — there's space to linger or skip ahead depending on what draws you.

French Village is the part that feels surreal. It's a full replica of a medieval French town — square, cathedral, inns, the works — built into the mountainside. Walking through it is like stepping into a different century, except the people around you are speaking Vietnamese and taking selfies. Fantasy Park sits nearby with amusement rides and games suitable for both adults and kids, so if your group has children or you just want to ride something, it's there. Lunch is a buffet included in the tour, and you eat at the top before heading back down. Around 3 to 3:30pm you board the cable car again for the descent, and the bus returns you to Da Nang by late afternoon.

The whole day is structured but not rigid — your guide is there to answer questions and keep things moving, but you're not being rushed through stops. Bring water even though bottled water is provided, wear comfortable shoes because there's walking involved, and don't expect the French Village to feel authentic — it's a theme park interpretation, and that's exactly what it is.
