The cable car climbs before you've finished your coffee. Ba Na Hills rises 40 kilometers northwest of Da Nang city center, and the journey up takes you past the tree line into a different climate altogether: the air cools as the city shrinks below. The cable car itself is the highest in Southeast Asia by vertical distance, which means the ride lasts long enough to watch the landscape shift from tropical to something closer to the highlands of Sapa or Da Lat. Your guide meets you at the base, and from there the day follows the mountain itself: cable car up, then the Golden Bridge, then down through the gardens and into Fantasy Park.
The Golden Bridge is the thing everyone photographs, and it's stranger in person than online.
