The experience

You board at Ko Olina Marina on the west side of Oahu and sail up the coastline with the boat entirely to your group. The 46-foot yacht has wrap-around decks and enough lounge space that everyone can settle in without crowding. As you move along the water, watch for Hawaiian spinner dolphins, humpback whales (in season), pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins and flying fish: sightings are common but never guaranteed. The guide points out what appears and explains the marine life as it surfaces.

Once anchored, the snorkeling begins. Professional equipment and instruction get you ready to enter the water, and you can jump off the boat or use an inner tube to ease in. Underwater, the reef holds tropical fish, Hawaiian green sea turtles, eels and more. The guide stays with you and shows you where to look. If the water doesn't appeal or you want to rest, the deck is there to lounge on between swims.

Back on board, a fresh lunch (turkey Monterey wrap, grilled chicken pesto wrap, fruit, and chips) waits alongside the hosted bar. Hawaiian bottled water, soft drinks, beer, sparkling wine and spirits are included. The return to Ko Olina takes the final stretch of the 3.5 hours, and you leave with the boat and crew entirely yours for the day.
