Snorkeling in Waikiki: Private Yacht with Lunch
You snorkel from a private yacht instead of a crowded beach.
Snorkel in Waikiki aboard a 43-foot yacht with up to five other guests, using provided professional equipment to search for Hawaiian sea turtles, eels and tropical fish along reefs away from the masses. The 2.5-hour experience departs from Ala Wai Boat Harbor, includes lunch and drinks aboard, and ends with time to relax in the sun while the crew handles everything else.
The experience
The yacht leaves Ala Wai Boat Harbor and cruises along the reefs toward a mooring spot chosen for the day's conditions and wildlife. On the way you'll watch surfers pass by and keep an eye on the water: Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, Green Sea Turtles, Humpback Whales (seasonally) and Flying Fish show up in these waters. Because the boat holds a maximum of six guests, you're not competing for space or jostling with dozens of other snorkelers at a single reef.
Once moored, you get in the water with professional snorkel gear provided and ready. The reef holds tropical fish, Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, eels and more. You can jump off the boat or ease in from the water's edge. The crew lets you set the pace. A live English-speaking guide is aboard to point out what you're seeing and answer questions.
Between snorkels you bask in the sun while the crew serves lunch (turkey provolone or pastrami panini, chips and fresh fruit) and cold drinks. Coffee and tea are also available. Soda, bottled water and snacks round out what's provided. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available if you request them when booking.

Is this one for you?You operate the snorkel gear yourself and set your own pace in the water, which suits anyone who wants to explore at their comfort level rather than follow a group rhythm. The private yacht format means no crowds at the reef and no jostling for space, so it works well for families, small groups or anyone who prefers intimate access over a larger tour boat.
