The Experience

I’ll be honest — I didn’t expect to feel so lazy and so lucky at the same time, rolling through Central Park in a pedicab while everyone else hustled past on foot or bikes. Our guide, Samir, had this way of weaving stories about the park’s history with random New York trivia (like how sheep used to graze where we now picnic). The air smelled faintly of roasted nuts from a cart near the entrance — not sure if that’s always there or if I just got lucky.

We stopped at Bethesda Terrace, which looked even bigger up close than it does in movies. Samir pointed out where scenes from “Home Alone” and “Elf” were filmed — I tried to imagine Kevin running past us.
