The experience
The Boeing Factory portion opens with a behind-the-scenes walk along the factory balcony for a front-row view of current airplane production. You'll see the 777 and 777X assembly lines and learn the site's history. This is where Boeing's very first airplane launched in 1916 from Lake Union. The factory itself is the largest building in the world by volume, and the tour includes access to a gallery of innovative aircraft and a flight simulator before you head back to the coach.
The Seattle city portion hits the landmarks that define the region. You'll pass the floating homes on Lake Union (some worth over six million dollars), spot the Fremont Troll under the bridge, drive by the Vladimir Lenin statue, and stop at Kerry Park for what the operator calls the best viewpoint in Seattle: the view of the Space Needle from here is the one most visitors photograph. The Ballard Locks, the busiest lock system in the United States, is where fresh and salt water meet. From June through September you can watch salmon swim up the fish ladder. You'll also see the Amazon Spheres, a workplace built around 40,000 plants from cloud forest regions, and pass the University of Washington campus where the 1936 Olympic rowing team trained (the subject of the book and film "Boys in the Boat").
The tour wraps at either the Space Needle or your original pickup location at the Hyatt Regency. The operator has refined this route over more than ten years and notes it's the only tour in Seattle that combines the Boeing Factory with a full city tour. Review sites and the booking platform ranked the Seattle city portion in the top 20 experiences in the United States.
