The experience
The day starts with a walking tour through an 1861 ghost town. The kind of place that has stood in for Old West scenes in movies and music videos. You'll see vintage equipment, rare antiques, and buildings that look like they stepped out of a Mad Max set. The guide shares the history and sets up photos before you head to gear up.
Then comes the two-hour RZR ride. You're behind the wheel of either a 2-seater or 4-seater Polaris Razor, navigating rugged desert trails toward the Colorado River. The route passes through gold mine country with canyon views and frequent stops to spot local wildlife: bighorn sheep, mountain lions, coyotes, foxes, and if you're lucky, rarer sightings. Once you reach the river, you'll have lunch with panoramic views and time to switch drivers if you're in a 4-seater before heading back out on the trails.
After cleaning up at the Adventure Zone (which has shaded seating, music, and outdoor games like hatchet throwing), you tour the 1861 Gold Mine. The guide walks you through the underground tunnels and explains how miners worked and lived in this remote spot. You leave with a free photo and video package capturing the day, plus unlimited water, sunscreen, and other supplies provided throughout.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the RZR ride actually like on these Nevada trails?
The two-hour RZR ride covers rugged desert terrain toward the Colorado River, mixing fast-paced sections with photo stops and wildlife spotting. You're driving the vehicle yourself, not riding along, and the pace is described as adrenaline-filled with canyon views and frequent chances to see bighorn sheep, mountain lions, and other local wildlife.
Do I need off-road driving experience to book this?
No prior experience is required. The guide provides a full safety orientation and instruction before you drive, and you'll receive all safety gear including helmet, goggles, gloves, and a neck gaiter. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory for safety, but fitness level is not a barrier.
What exactly is the 1861 ghost town like?
The ghost town is a preserved mining settlement filled with vintage equipment, rare antiques, and authentic Old West buildings that have been used as filming locations for movies and music videos. The guide leads a walking tour with historical commentary and photo opportunities before you head out on the RZR.
Is hotel pickup included, or do I drive to the location myself?
Hotel pickup is available on two of the four options. The other two are drive-to-location departures. Choose the option that matches your preference at checkout.
What happens if I damage the RZR?
You're responsible for damage to the vehicle. Tire or rim damage runs $600. If the RZR rolls or tips on its side, the minimum charge is $3,500 for a 2-seater or $4,500 for a 4-seater. You'll provide a credit card before the tour begins, and the operator will charge it for any incidents that occur.
