The experience

You get picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and driven to the trailhead. Once there, you climb into the UTV (either a 2-seater for one or two guests, or a 4-seater for up to four), and the guide shows you the best routes through the desert. For the next hour, you're operating the machine yourself, navigating rocky trails, steep hills and canyon passages. The terrain shifts as you go: some sections open onto views of the Colorado River and Boulder Canyons, while others climb into mountain passes where Big Horn Sheep sometimes appear. The guide leads from their own vehicle and stops at favorite photo spots along the way.

Small group sizes mean you're not waiting in the heat or crammed into a van with strangers. The operator picks up one or two parties at a time, so the day stays flexible around your schedule. Bottled water and snacks are provided, and helmets and goggles come with the rental. You can stick to one of the two established trails or pay to combine both into a longer ride. If you want something beyond the standard routes (a different terrain, a specific focus, a group event like a bachelor party or family outing), the operator takes custom requests.
