The experience
You start at a time that suits you, picked up in a modern air-conditioned vehicle. The tour moves through Punta del Este's main sights: the port where sea lions gather near the yachts, the Hand of Punta del Este (five fingers half-buried in sand at Brava beach), the lighthouse built in 1860, and the Ralli Museum of contemporary Latin American and European art. Your guide, either Paola or Favio depending on availability, shapes the day around what interests you most, inviting questions and stopping longer where you want to look.
Punta Ballena sits on the route, known locally for sunsets and the whale-tail shape of its descending hill. Casa Pueblo, the arthouse museum designed by artist Carlos Páez Vilaró, sits here: five rooms and three terraces of paintings, ceramics and sculptures, plus a cinema showing documentaries about Páez's work. Museum entry is not included but you can buy tickets on-site or ahead online. The tour also passes the Dragons Headquarters, an 1797 building where José Gervasio Artigas began his military career, and stops in downtown Maldonado to see the Plaza del Vigía with its tower and the Marco de los Reyes landmark from a 1750 treaty between Spanish and Portuguese territories.
The day wraps with Uruguayan food and the sunset over Punta del Este. You can request a map of the city, and wifi is available onboard. If you want more comfort, a minivan upgrade is available on request at additional cost. A short boat ride or a sup/kayak experience can be added as options at checkout.

Is this one for you?You set the start time and the pace, which means you can linger at the Hand or the museum without watching the clock or holding up a group. This works best if you want to explore at your own rhythm rather than follow a fixed schedule: the guide adapts to what interests you, not the other way around.
