The experience

You get picked up from your Dubai or Sharjah hotel in an air-conditioned car and driven to the desert where camels are lined up and ready. After 45 minutes of trekking through the red dunes at sunset, you'll settle into the Bedouin camp with Arabian coffee, tea and dates while the light fades. A henna artist decorates your hands with traditional designs, and you can dress in Arab clothing and hold a falcon for photos. The evening builds toward a sit-down BBQ dinner buffet, with vegetarian options, where tanoura and belly dancers perform. Shisha smoking is available if you want it. Afterward, you can stay under the open sky watching the stars or head to your air-conditioned room with bed, mattress, pillows and blankets.

Morning arrives with another camel trek across the dunes, this time to watch the sunrise. After roughly 45 minutes in the saddle, you'll return to the camp for a full Arabic breakfast before the drive back to your hotel. The whole experience (pickup, both rides, the camp stay, all meals, coffee and dates, the performances, henna, falcon photo and drop-off) is arranged for you, so there's no planning or logistics to handle on your end.
