The experience

The day starts with a hotel pickup in a Land Cruiser, then heads straight into 35 to 40 minutes of dune bashing across the Lahbab Red Dunes with a DTCM-approved driver. The 4x4 climbs and drops the red slopes while you hold on. Stops at the highest dunes let you step out for photos before the vehicle moves on. After the bashing, the pace shifts to a gentle drive toward the desert camp.

At camp, you're welcomed with Arabic tea, coffee, sweets, and fresh fruit. The activities run in parallel: camel rides, sandboarding under supervision, henna painting on your hands, and photos in traditional Arabic dress happen as you choose them. Falcon photography is available if that appeals. The buffet dinner is international, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian BBQ options, and water, tea, coffee, and soft drinks flow throughout the evening without limit.

Once the sun drops, the entertainment takes over. Belly dancers, Tanoura performers in spinning skirts, and a fire show fill the camp with music and movement. The light and sound display runs across the stage and around the grounds. After the final act, the driver takes you back to your hotel. The whole experience runs about six hours from pickup to drop-off.
