The experience

Your guide picks you up from your Dubai or Sharjah hotel and drives about 50 minutes into the Lehbab Desert, sharing facts about the city along the way. Once there, the driver deflates the vehicle's tires and the dune bashing begins: the 4x4 climbs and drops across the red sands while you hold on. A stop at a high dune gives you time to photograph the desert stretching out in every direction, and the light at that hour is the reason the timing matters.

After photos, your guide hands out sandboards and you slide down the dunes on your own. Quad biking is available at the buggy point if you want it, though it costs extra. Then the group heads to the Dream Night Tours campsite, where you're welcomed with Arabic coffee and dates. A short camel ride follows, and henna painting is offered if you want it. As the sun sets, the entertainment starts: two belly dance shows, a tanoura dancer spinning in a tall hat, and two fire shows. The BBQ buffet runs throughout (kebabs, hummus, fresh salads, and more), and you eat under the open sky. Vegetarian and Jain options are available. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and water flow all evening. When the shows end, your driver takes you back to your hotel.
