A 6-hour evening desert safari from Dubai combines self-drive quad biking across Lehbab's towering red dunes with 4x4 dune bashing, sunset photography, and a full camp experience: camel ride, sandboarding, henna, VIP seating, premium BBQ buffet, and live entertainment including belly dance and fire shows. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included. The quad bike ride runs 30 to 60 minutes depending on your option, and you choose from morning or evening departures with or without the quad bike component.

The experience

The safari starts with hotel pickup in a Land Cruiser between 2 and 3pm (or earlier for morning options), and the drive takes you deep into the Lehbab Desert: the most dramatic landscape in the UAE, with crimson dunes rising 300 feet. Once you reach the red dunes, you climb into your own quad bike and ride across open desert for 30 to 60 minutes depending on which option you book. The machine is yours to control. The fuel and helmet come with it. After the ride, the 4x4 takes over for 25 to 30 minutes of dune bashing: the vehicle tilts and drops over the slopes while you grip the seat, and it is the closest most people get to feeling the desert move beneath them.

The camp sits deep in the Arabian Sahara and runs on Bedouin traditions mixed with modern comfort. You settle into VIP sofa seating, sip Arabic coffee, and the activities unfold around you: a short camel ride (20 to 30 minutes, repeatable on request), sandboarding on the dunes if you want it, henna painting for women, and a chance to dress in traditional Arabic clothes for photographs. The sun drops behind the dunes and a designated photo stop lets you capture it. As evening deepens, the BBQ buffet arrives (vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, unlimited soft drinks, tea and coffee included), and the live shows begin: belly dance, Tanoura (spinning skirts and light), and a fire display (evening slots only). The whole experience runs about 6 hours from pickup to drop-off.

The quad bike is the defining piece: you ride it yourself across open desert, not as a passenger. That is the difference between watching the dunes and driving them. If you want the camp and the shows without the bike, that option exists. If you want only the quad bike ride without the camp, that is available too. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and a dozen other languages, so language is not a barrier. Pickup happens 40 to 45 minutes before your selected time, so plan to be in the hotel lobby ready. The driver will text you on WhatsApp to confirm arrival.

It is thrilling but not dangerous. You stay strapped in and the driver is experienced.

Is the BBQ dinner included, and what if I am vegetarian?

The premium BBQ buffet dinner is included in the evening safari options, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes available. Jain food can be requested in advance. Unlimited soft drinks, water, tea and coffee are also included.

What time does the evening safari depart, and when do I get back to my hotel?

Hotel pickup happens between 2 and 3pm, and the entire experience runs approximately 6 hours, so you return to your hotel by early evening. Morning safari options also exist with different timing. The driver will confirm your exact pickup time via WhatsApp before the day.
