The experience

The safari starts with a hotel pickup in a 4-wheel drive vehicle between 2:30 and 3 pm. Your guide drives you to the Dubai Desert point, where the real day begins: 45 minutes of dune bashing across the most beautiful and highest red sand dunes in Dubai. The vehicle climbs, drops and carves through the landscape while you sit inside. If you want it, quad biking is available on request (tickets are separate). After the dunes, you try sand boarding (sliding down the slopes on a board), before heading toward the Arabian camp as the light starts to shift.

At the camp, the evening unfolds through a series of experiences. You ride a camel across the desert floor, then settle in for tea and coffee with starters. The BBQ dinner arrives with soft drinks and water included. Between courses, a henna artist paints intricate designs on your hands or arms while you watch. The entertainment builds through the evening: belly dancing, a Tanoora show (the spinning skirt performance), and a fire show that closes out the night. Everything from the camel ride through the final performance is part of the package.

The camps operate at a premium standard, and the whole experience is designed to move as a group through each activity without gaps. Dress code is smart casual. Specialized infant seats are available if you're traveling with very young children, and the itinerary suits all fitness levels. The dune bashing is the most physically active part, but you're seated the whole time.
