The Experience

I’ll be honest — I didn’t expect to get sand in my shoes before we even started the dune bashing part. Our driver, Ahmed, just grinned and handed me a bottle of water, like he’d seen this a thousand times. The drive out from Dubai was quiet at first — city lights fading behind us, then suddenly that endless stretch of sand. There’s something weirdly peaceful about it. But then you’re in the 4x4 and it’s all laughter and shouts as you slide up and down those golden dunes. My stomach did a little flip (or two), but I couldn’t stop grinning.

The evening just kept rolling — belly dancers swirling past our table, then a fire show that made everyone gasp (the heat hits your face even from ten feet away). I tried sandboarding once but mostly ended up laughing at myself and brushing sand out of my pockets for the rest of the night.
