A six-hour desert safari from Dubai combining dune driving with your guide, camel rides, henna tattoos and a full evening of entertainment (Tanura dance, belly dance and fire show) followed by a four-course barbecue dinner with salads and breads. The experience

The tour starts with a drive straight into the red sand dunes, where your guide navigates the steep slopes at speed: the kind of driving that feels like a roller coaster on sand. You stop for pictures as the light drops, then head to the camp where Arabic coffee, tea and dates wait. The camp has traditional tents with carpets and pillows if you want to sit, or you can stay by the campfire. While the charcoal ovens heat up for dinner, you can get a henna tattoo or take a camel ride across the dunes.

The evening entertainment runs three acts. A Tanura performer (a Sufi dancer in a spinning skirt) goes first, followed by a belly dancer performing to live music. The fire show closes out the performances. Between and after the acts, you eat: starters of chicken shawarma and falafel, then a spread of grilled meats and salads served under the open sky. Two cans of beer per adult are included. Coffee and tea flow throughout. A sand board is part of the package if you want to try sliding down the dunes earlier in the day.

The drive back to the city happens after dinner, so you leave the camp around late evening. Quad bikes and dune buggies are available for extra cost if you want to swap the guide-led drive for something faster, but those are payable on the spot. The tour runs six hours total from pickup at your hotel to drop-off.
