The Experience
The tour leaves Istanbul at 6:30 AM on day one and drives to the Gallipoli Peninsula, arriving by noon for lunch in Eceabat. You'll walk the battlefields and memorials where ANZAC and Ottoman forces fought in World War I, see the trenches they dug, and spend the night in Canakkale. Day two takes you to Troy at 8:30 AM to explore the remains of multiple ancient cities layered on top of each other, climb inside a replica of the Trojan horse, and examine walls that are 3,700 years old. After lunch you continue to Pergamon for a guided tour of the Library, Temple of Athena, Acropolis, and Altar of Zeus before heading to your hotel in Kusadasi.
Day three is a three-hour drive from Kusadasi to Pamukkale, where you enter from the top and tour Hierapolis—the gymnasium, amphitheater that once held 15,000 people, and Temple of Apollo. Then you walk barefoot across the white travertine terraces and can wade into the natural hot springs or swim in the man-made thermal baths. Day four keeps you based in Kusadasi for a full tour of Ephesus: you descend through the ancient city past the Odeon, Library of Celsus, Temple of Hadrian, and the Great Theater (which seated 24,000 and is still used for festivals). You'll also visit the House of the Virgin Mary and see the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, before stopping in Sirince village on the way back.
On day five you fly to Cappadocia and begin the South Cappadocia tour at 9:30 AM, descending through eight levels of the Kaymakli Underground City, then visiting Love Valley, Red Valley, Rose Valley, and Pigeon Valley to see the distinctive rock formations. Day six starts with an optional hot air balloon ride (book separately) and continues with the North Cappadocia tour: you stop at Uchisar Castle for views, tour the Göreme Open-Air Museum, watch a pottery demonstration in Avanos where you can try the wheel yourself, and visit Devrent Valley with its animal-shaped rock formations and the fairy chimneys of Monks Valley. The tour ends with a flight back to Istanbul and transfer to your hotel.

Can I swim at Pamukkale?
Yes. After touring Hierapolis, you walk barefoot across the white travertine terraces and can dip your feet in the natural hot springs or swim in the man-made thermal baths. You'll need to bring a swimsuit, sunglasses, and sunscreen, and be able to walk about half a mile over the travertines without shoes.
What is the Kaymakli Underground City?
Kaymakli is an ancient underground settlement carved into the volcanic rock of Cappadocia. On day five, you descend through eight levels that are open to visitors, exploring the rooms and passages that once housed a full community.
Is the hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia included?
The hot air balloon ride is optional and not included in the tour price. It's available on day six morning before the North Cappadocia tour begins. You can contact the operator to book it separately if you'd like to watch the sunrise float above the fairy chimneys.
