Four natural wonders and one ancient city in a single day, without arranging the logistics yourself.

The experience
The day starts with your choice of departure: from an Istanbul hotel with airport transfers and flights to Denizli, or from your hotel in Pamukkale or Karahayit. Either way, your guide and driver meet you and drive to Salda Lake first. The lake sits surrounded by mountains with just one village nearby, which keeps the water clean. The white sand and shifting shades of blue (caused by magnesium sulphate in the water) are what draw people here. Bring a camera and sandals because the gravelly sand is harsh underfoot.
After Salda Lake, you stop at a local restaurant for lunch, then visit a traditional handcraft workshop to learn about the special stones and metals of the region. From there, the tour moves to Pamukkale Natural Park, where you'll walk through the white travertines and explore Hierapolis Ancient City above them. The ruins include the Roman Baths, Domitian Gate, Theater, Apollon Temple, Plutonium, and several other structures. Admission to Hierapolis is free with your park ticket. You get roughly an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes of free time to swim in the thermal pools themselves: the white water of the lower travertine pools or, if you choose, the Antique Pool higher up, where Cleopatra once bathed in clear warm water fed by the same hot springs.
If you booked the Istanbul option, Kaklik Cave is included at the end of the day. Formed over 2.5 million years ago, the cave has a collapsed roof that lets light in, wooden walkways through a 190-metre circle, and rimstone pools and waterfalls inside. The walk takes around twenty minutes. After the cave, you're transferred back to Denizli airport for your return flight to Istanbul, where your driver meets you and takes you to your hotel. If you booked from Pamukkale, the tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel in Pamukkale or Karahayit.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (under 6).
What is Salda Lake actually like when you get there?
Salda Lake is surrounded by mountains with white sand beaches and water in shifting shades of blue, caused by magnesium sulphate. The lake is kept clean because only one village sits nearby. It's known for its scenery, so bring a camera. Wear sandals because the gravelly sand is harsh on bare feet.
Can I swim in the thermal pools at Pamukkale, or just look at them?
You get free time, roughly 60 to 75 minutes, to swim in the thermal pools. You can choose the white travertine pools lower down or the Antique Pool higher up, which is fed by the same hot springs and holds clear warm water instead of white water.
What's included in the lunch, and can I request vegetarian food?
Lunch is served at a local restaurant and is included in the tour price. Vegetarian options are available. Let the operator know your dietary requirements when you book.
Does the Istanbul option really include flights, or is that extra?
Round-trip domestic flights between Istanbul and Denizli are included in the Istanbul option. You'll need to provide your passport details at least 48 hours before the tour so the operator can book your tickets. The Pamukkale option does not include flights.
How much time do you actually spend exploring Hierapolis Ancient City?
The itinerary includes a guided tour of Hierapolis, where you'll see the Roman Baths, Domitian Gate, Theater, Apollon Temple, Plutonium and other ruins. After the guided portion, your free time at the thermal pools (60–75 minutes) overlaps with the Hierapolis site, so you can take photos from the best corners while you're there.
What is Kaklik Cave, and is it included in every option?
Kaklik Cave formed over 2.5 million years ago and features rimstone pools, waterfalls, and wooden walkways through a 190-metre circle. The cave takes about twenty minutes to explore. It's included only in the Istanbul option. The Pamukkale option does not visit the cave.
