The day starts with pickup from your Istanbul hotel and a transfer to the airport for an early morning flight to Cappadocia. You arrive in the region by mid-morning, where your guide meets you and the real exploration begins. Göreme Open-Air Museum is a UNESCO World Heritage Site carved into fairy chimneys, with rock-cut churches and monasteries from the Byzantine period. The frescoes inside depict religious scenes, and the site sits surrounded by Cappadocia's surreal volcanic landscape. From there you walk through Monks Valley (Pasabag), where the fairy chimneys rise with multiple caps, some housing ancient dwellings and churches carved directly into the stone. A stop at Göreme Panorama gives you a vantage point over the entire valley: the formations spread below you in every direction. Devrent Valley follows, known for its animal-shaped rock formations created by erosion. The camel-shaped stone is the most famous. The day includes time in Avanos, a pottery-making town on the Kızılırmak River, and Urgüp, which sits among cave hotels and local wineries.

Kaymakli Underground City is the centerpiece of the afternoon. Carved into soft volcanic rock, it served as a refuge for early Christians and descends multiple levels into tunnels, chambers and living quarters. You walk through the intricate layout, seeing ventilation shafts and stone doors that show the engineering behind it. Lunch happens at a traditional restaurant during the day, and by late afternoon you're transferred back to the airport for the return flight to Istanbul, arriving in the evening.
