The experience
The boat is a traditional Thai junk with both shaded and sun-soaked deck space, a cocktail bar, and a state-of-the-art sound system. Snorkeling gear comes in all sizes, including prescription masks and kids' equipment. Six paddleboards and a two-person kayak sit ready on deck, so you can explore the coastline at your own pace or paddle out to a serene beach. The crew speaks English, Spanish and Thai, and the day runs six hours from start to finish.
Snorkeling starts in the morning on vibrant reefs teeming with colorful fish and coral. At Chicken Island, named for its rock formation, you'll have a gourmet buffet breakfast of meats, cheeses, smoked salmon, eggs and fresh breads while taking in the view, then snorkel again at a spectacular reef nearby. The real highlight comes at Tup Island: during low tide, a natural sandbar called Talay Waek emerges between Tup and Chicken islands, creating a temporary pathway where you can walk across with the sea lapping at your feet on both sides. It's a rare phenomenon that shifts with the tides, and the crew times the stop to catch it.
Poda Island comes next, where white sand and clear water meet towering limestone cliffs. Swim, relax on the boat's rooftop with a cocktail, or take a paddleboard or kayak out to explore. The day ends at Railay beach, where a longtail boat ferries you back to your meeting point in Ao Nang or Railay, depending on where you want to finish. Water, juice, soft drinks, snacks and fruit flow all day. Life jackets and a first-aid kit are onboard, and a Western-style bathroom with fresh water shower is available.
