The experience
The boat leaves the north coast of Koh Samui in the morning with light breakfast on board (tea, coffee, toast and fruit), and heads out to Angthong National Marine Park, an archipelago of islands with dramatic rock formations. You'll spend the day moving between three main stops: first a longtail boat takes you into Thale Nai, a lagoon enclosed by steep limestone walls where you can see the landscape up close. Then it's back to the main boat for a Thai buffet lunch with fresh seasonal fruit.
The snorkeling happens at Wua Ta Lap island, where you enter the water with a mask and fins to see soft corals and small underwater caves. The same stop includes kayaking. You paddle your own boat through the shallow water around the island. All equipment is provided: snorkel gear, life jacket and dry bag. Your guide speaks English and stays with the group throughout the day.
The final stop is Bua Boke Cave on a higher island, which requires a short climb to reach. Inside are lotus-shaped stalactites hanging from the ceiling, and from the cave mouth you get views across the Gulf of Thailand. The boat returns to Koh Samui by late afternoon. Hotel pickup and drop-off by minibus are included, as is life insurance.
