Step-by-step itinerary

Explore Hua Hin city highlights

  • Visit Chat Chai Market
  • See Historical Railway Station
  • Climb Khao Takiab mountain

The experience

What makes this tour work is the pickup from your hotel: no arranging a taxi or negotiating with drivers. You start at Chat Chai Market, the 80-year-old heart of Hua Hin where locals buy fresh and dried seafood, rice, and curry. The market was built in 1953 on the royal word of King Rama VII and Princess Rambai Barni's first visit to Klai Kangwon Palace, and it remains the source for souvenirs and reasonably priced dried squid, shrimp, and mackerel.

Next is the Historical Railway Station, built during King Rama VI's reign and one of Thailand's oldest. Its most striking feature is the Royal Waiting Room, constructed in traditional Thai style and still standing as a reminder of the station's royal heritage. From there you climb Khao Takiab (also called monkey mountain or Chopstick hill), where Wat Khao Lad temple sits at the top. The 20-meter golden Buddha statue overlooks the sea, and on a clear day you can see as far as Cha-Am beach to the north. The monkeys that live on the hill are the reason locals call it the monkey temple.

The tour ends at Art's Sake Hua Hin Museum, a newer attraction built around a 4D immersive experience. Your guide handles the route and timing. You get three hours total, water included, and the vehicle is air-conditioned throughout.
