ATV Riding & Big Buddha from Phuket: 2-hour quad bike adventure
You ride the ATV yourself, not just sit and watch.
A 2-hour ATV activity in Phuket where you ride a Polaris Phoenix 200cc quad bike to Big Buddha, with hotel pickup, a guide in English, safety equipment and instruction included. Small groups keep the pace manageable, and the route follows the island's coastline with views over the Andaman Sea before reaching the statue. Children from age 4 can ride or join as passengers.
The Experience
You get picked up from your Phuket hotel in Patong, Kata, Karon, Rawai or Chalong and driven to the safari camp, passing the coastline and Andaman Sea views along the way. An experienced instructor gives a brief presentation on the ATV before you set out — this is where you learn the basics and get fitted with your helmet and safety gear. Then you ride: the instructor leads you on the Polaris Phoenix 200cc quad bike along the track toward Big Buddha, which sits on the south side of the island overlooking the ocean.
At Big Buddha, you stop to take in the panoramic views and learn the statue's history from your guide. The interior is temporarily closed, but the outside and the vantage point from up there are what most people come for anyway. After the break, you ride back to the safari camp and get transferred back to your hotel. The whole thing runs 2 hours from start to finish.
Small groups mean you're not herded through with dozens of others, and the guide stays with you the whole way. Drinking water, a raincoat if it rains, a first aid kit and accident insurance for riders are all included. If you're bringing a child between 4 and 11 years old or under 130cm tall, they can ride their own ATV or sit as a passenger — just specify which when you book. Riders need to be in good physical and mental condition, and the operator takes safety seriously: if your riding looks risky, the guide will stop you with no refund.

What's the Big Buddha like when we get there?
