Sunset Dinner Cruise Koh Samui: Sail, Swim & Dine
Swim at a bay, then dine under the stars on a wooden sailing yacht
A sunset dinner cruise along the north coast of Koh Samui combines three hours of sailing on an authentic wooden yacht with a bay stop for swimming and fun-fishing, followed by a traditional Thai dinner buffet served as daylight fades and the boat returns under the stars. Hotel pickup and a welcome drink are included; the guide speaks English, German or Thai depending on the departure you choose.
The Experience
The boat leaves the port in the late afternoon and sails along Koh Samui's north coast. The wooden yacht is the vessel itself—not a speedboat or a catamaran, but a traditional sailing ship where you spend the evening on deck. After an hour or so of sailing, the boat anchors at one of the bays near the coast, and this is when you get in the water. Swimming happens here, and if you want to try fun-fishing, the crew sets that up too. The bay stop is the break in the day; after you climb back aboard, the real shift happens.
Dinner starts as the sun begins to drop. The buffet includes fried rice with vegetables and egg, steamed rice, green papaya salad, fish tempura, fried vegetables in oyster sauce, fried chicken with cashew nuts, spring rolls, and chicken satay—all traditional Thai dishes. Soft drinks, coffee and tea come with the meal, and fresh fruit rounds it out. The boat turns back toward port as darkness settles, and you eat and sit on deck while the stars come up. The three-hour window holds the whole arc: sailing out, the water stop, the meal, and the return.
Hotel pickup is included, so you don't arrange transport to the port. The guide speaks English, German or Thai depending on which departure you book. Alcoholic drinks are available at the bar on board for an extra charge. The boat is wheelchair accessible and suitable for all fitness levels.
