Hong Island Private Tour: Limestone lagoon & 700m beach
Four islands, one private boat, limestone cliffs rising from turquoise water
You're picked up from your Ao Nang hotel, taken to the pier, and spend six hours on a private long-tail boat visiting four islands: Koh Lao La Ding, Koh Pak Bia, Hong Lagoon, and Koh Hong. You swim, snorkel, walk beaches, and climb to a viewpoint overlooking the whole group. Snorkeling gear, water, fruit, and a life jacket are provided. The national park fee (300 THB) is paid separately at the pier.

The Experience
The long-tail boat cuts through water so clear you see the sand beneath it, and the limestone mountains of Hong Island rise ahead like they've been waiting. You're picked up from your Ao Nang hotel around 8am—the shuttle takes maybe thirty minutes to reach Ao Nam Mao Pier—and by 9:40 you're already at Koh Lao La Ding, the first stop, where the morning light hits the rock faces and the beach is still quiet. The boat is yours alone, which means no rushing between spots, no crowded photo moments, no schedule that doesn't fit your pace. Your guide knows the currents and the best snorkeling spots, and he'll steer you toward Koh Pak Bia next, where the water changes color again and the fish are thick enough that you'll feel them brush past your legs.
Hong Lagoon comes around 11:10, and this is the part that stays with you—a lagoon carved into the island, surrounded by mangrove forest and cliffs that seem to lean inward. It's the kind of place that looks unreal in photos, so you'll take plenty, and then you'll just sit with it for a while. The boat drifts, the water is still, and the only sound is the occasional bird call echoing off the rock. By midday you're at Koh Hong itself, where a 700-meter beach runs along the island and a viewpoint climbs up to show you the whole archipelago at once. You swim, you rest, you walk the sand—there's no schedule pushing you toward the next thing because the next thing is just more of this. Snorkeling gear is included, though the lagoon and beaches are the real draw here rather than underwater life. The return journey starts around 1:30pm, and you're back at your hotel by 3pm, which leaves the afternoon open.
The private boat setup means you're not sharing the experience with thirty other tourists, and you can ask the captain to linger at whichever island feels right that day. Water, fruit, life jacket, and a cooler are all on board. The national park entrance fee—300 THB per person—isn't included in the price, so budget for that when you book. This works best if you're staying in Ao Nang or nearby; if you're further out, check the pickup availability first.
What’s included
Your day includes hotel pickup and drop-off in Ao Nang (shared shuttle), a private long-tail boat for six hours, bottled water, fresh fruit, a life jacket, snorkeling mask, and a cooler box. The national park entrance fee of 300 THB per person is paid separately at the pier.
Operated by Railay Local Travel
Is this one for you?Right for travelers staying in Ao Nang who want a private boat and the flexibility to linger at whichever island feels right. Expect a full morning and early afternoon out—the boat leaves at 8:30am and you're back by 3pm, which is what makes four islands possible in one trip.
