The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Krabi hotel between 8:00 and 8:30 AM, then a speedboat ride to Pakbia Island. The water is clear enough to see the coral reefs and the limestone scenery that rises from the seabed. You get snorkeling mask, snorkel and life jacket. An English-speaking guide leads the stops and stays with the group. After Pakbia Island, the boat moves to Lading Island, where the beaches are wider and the limestone cliffs closer to the shore.

Hong Lagoon is the centerpiece: a hidden inlet ringed by dramatic vertical rock faces, reachable only by boat. You swim and snorkel in the lagoon itself, then the group heads to Hong Island for more time in the water and on the sand. Lunch happens during the trip, a restaurant meal that includes halal options, drinking water and fresh fruit. The return to the pier and transfer back to your hotel takes the total time to about 6 hours from pickup to drop-off.

The speedboat means you cover three islands in one morning instead of spending a full day island-hopping by smaller craft. The pace is set by the guide and the group, not by your own swimming speed or how long you want to linger at each stop. What is Hong Lagoon like when you get there?

Hong Lagoon is a secluded inlet surrounded by towering limestone cliffs that rise straight from the water. You enter by speedboat and swim or snorkel inside the lagoon itself, where the water is sheltered and clear. The cliffs are dramatic enough that the lagoon feels enclosed, even though it opens to the sea.

Do I need snorkeling experience to join?

No. The snorkeling gear is provided (mask, snorkel and life jacket), and the guide is English-speaking. The activity is suitable for all physical fitness levels, and you can swim or float without snorkeling if you prefer. The guide will show you how to use the equipment before you enter the water.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The speedboat operates in normal sea conditions. If weather makes the trip unsafe, the operator will reschedule you to another date or offer a refund. Check the weather forecast the night before and wear a rash guard or light long-sleeve shirt under your life jacket if you burn easily.

Is the 6-hour time from my hotel or from the pier?

The 6 hours includes hotel pickup at 8:00–8:30 AM and the return transfer to your hotel. The actual time on the water and at the islands is shorter. The rest is travel to and from the pier in Krabi.
