The experience

The day starts early: hotel pickup around 6:00 AM (if you book the transfer option), then a scenic flight at 7:00 AM that lands you in Mikumi National Park by 8:00 AM. Mikumi is often called the "Mini Serengeti" for its concentration of wildlife across open plains. You'll meet your professional guide and climb into a specially designed 4x4 safari vehicle with up to five other guests, giving everyone a guaranteed individual seat with clear views of the animals.

Morning and afternoon game drives take you through the park's vast landscape where elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes and occasionally leopards move through their natural habitat. Around midday, you'll stop for a buffet-style bush lunch inside the park. Drinking water and light refreshments stay in the vehicle throughout the drives, and raincoats are provided in case of showers.

Around 3:00–4:00 PM you return to the airstrip for the flight back to Zanzibar, arriving around 5:00 PM. Hotel drop-off (if selected) happens by approximately 6:00 PM. All flights, park entry fees, guiding, lunch and selected hotel transfers are included. The tour runs about 11 to 12 hours door to door.
