The experience
You meet at 8:00 at Pilatus Cablecar Station in Kriens. From there, the group drives together by car to the best launch spot based on that day's weather and wind conditions. Once you arrive, you'll take the cablecar up and hike a short distance to the takeoff point. A professional tandem pilot (trained to Swiss Federal Office for Civil Aviation standards and insured through the Swiss Hang Gliding Association) will brief you on what to expect, how the takeoff works, and how landing happens. Then you're off the ground.
The flight itself lasts up to 20 minutes depending on conditions and which flight option you choose. From the air, the lake of Lucerne and the surrounding peaks spread out below: you'll see Mount Titlis, Brunni, Stanserhorn, Rigi and Pilatus all at once, from a perspective most people never get. The pilot manages every input. Your job is to stay relaxed and take it in. Professional photos and video of your flight are available to purchase if you want to keep the moment.
Gear is provided: helmet, gloves, suit and shoes. Bring windproof clothing if you have it, and solid mountain shoes if available. The crew will supply what you don't have. The only physical requirement is the ability to run a few steps at takeoff. If you weigh over 100 kg (220 pounds), let the operator know when you book. Cablecar tickets (between CHF 20 and CHF 30 depending on which launch spot is used) are separate from the flight cost. If weather is good enough, a double airtime option is available for an additional fee.

What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French and German.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What do I actually do during the paragliding flight?
You're harnessed to a professional tandem pilot who controls the paraglide. Your role is to stay positioned correctly and enjoy the flight. The pilot handles all steering, altitude and landing. You'll be airborne for up to 20 minutes depending on conditions and your chosen flight option.
What's the weather situation, do flights get cancelled often?
The launch spot and timing are chosen based on actual weather conditions that morning. If conditions aren't safe for flight, the crew will reschedule you or offer an alternative. The 20-minute flight duration assumes good conditions. Poor weather can shorten it.
How fit do I need to be to paraglide?
The only physical requirement is the ability to run a few steps at takeoff. The activity is suitable for all fitness levels. If you have spinal injuries, are pregnant, or have cardiovascular concerns, it's not recommended. If you weigh over 100 kg (220 pounds), mention it when booking.
What's included in the price, and what costs extra?
The price includes the professional pilot, briefing, gear (helmet, gloves, suit, shoes), the cablecar ride up, and the flight. A double airtime option costs CHF 60 if weather permits.
Can I bring my phone or camera up in the air?
The operator provides professional photos and video of your flight, available for purchase. Bringing your own camera is not mentioned in the activity details. Confirm with the crew when you arrive whether it's safe to carry personal devices during the flight.
How many people can book together?
A maximum of three people per booking. Each person flies separately with their own pilot, but the group travels together to the launch site and meets at the same time.
