2-Day Kayaking in Stockholm Archipelago: Paddle & Camp
Two days paddling between 26,000 islands, camping where the water meets the shore
A 2-day kayaking tour in the Stockholm Archipelago where you paddle 25–35 km through calm waters, camp on quiet islands, and prepare meals together over a fire. The tour includes all camping gear, kayaks, meals and an experienced guide; groups stay small (2–5 people per guide) and beginners are welcome. Minimum age is 16.
The Experience
You meet your guide at the Stockholm base at 9:00 AM, get a quick gear check and safety briefing, then paddle out by 10:30 AM into waters dotted with small islands and wide views. The first paddle lasts about two hours through calm surroundings, far from city noise. Around lunchtime you land on a peaceful island to swim, stretch and eat together—the guide prepares lunch over a fire. After another two-hour paddle in the afternoon, you reach a scenic shoreline where the group sets up camp for the night, cooks dinner and watches the sun set over the water.
The second day follows a similar rhythm: paddle, explore, eat and rest on the water. The distance across both days is 25–35 km, which the operator rates as easy to normal fitness—no special requirements, and first-time kayakers are welcome. All camping equipment comes with you (tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag), as do the kayaks, paddles, spray skirts and life jackets. The guide speaks English and handles all the meals, so you show up with clothes and a willingness to paddle; everything else is arranged.
Roundtrip transportation from Stockholm is included, and the operator stores any luggage you don't need on the water. If you're traveling alone, write the operator before booking—they work with solo travelers on a case-by-case basis. Public transportation options are also nearby if you prefer to arrange your own arrival.
