The experience
Yala Blocks 5 & 6 are where the park's wildlife concentrates and the crowds thin out. Your private jeep and tracker guide mean you're not competing with other vehicles for sightings or stopping to wait for animals to cross the road. The guide reads the landscape, knows where to find leopards and elephants, and explains what you're seeing as it happens: behavior, habitat, why a crocodile chooses one waterhole over another. Binoculars come with you. So does a cool box stocked with bottled water, coffee, tea and fresh fruit.
The three itineraries let you match the safari to your day. The evening option runs four hours starting at 2 PM, catching the golden light when animals move most actively. The morning safari starts at 5 AM for seven hours, watching the park wake up. The full-day option runs dawn to dusk: thirteen hours with breakfast, lunch and the complete cycle of wildlife activity. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included in all three, and there are no hidden costs. Everything from the jeep to the meals to the guide's expertise is priced into one number.
You'll need to be comfortable in a jeep on unpaved park roads. The terrain and the early starts aren't demanding, but they do require a baseline of mobility and cardiovascular health. Infants travel on an adult's lap. After your return to the hotel, you'll have photos, field notes from your guide and a clear sense of how Yala's ecosystem actually works, not a rushed highlight reel, but a real day in the park.

Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 11 years); Infant (under 6): free.

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What animals am I most likely to see in Yala Blocks 5 & 6?
Leopards, elephants, crocodiles, deer and exotic birds are the main wildlife in these blocks. Your tracker guide knows the terrain and animal patterns, which raises the odds of sightings, but wildlife encounters are never guaranteed: the animals move on their own schedule.
Why are Blocks 5 and 6 different from the rest of Yala?
Blocks 5 and 6 concentrate the park's wildlife and draw fewer tourists than the more popular blocks, so you get better sighting opportunities and a quieter experience without sacrificing access to the animals.
What's included in the price?
Your private jeep, the tracker guide, hotel pickup and drop-off, binoculars, bottled water, coffee and tea, fresh fruit, and meals (breakfast and lunch on the full-day and evening safaris) are all included. Photography is free, and there are no additional park fees or hidden charges.
Can I choose how long I want to spend in the park?
Yes. You pick one of three options at checkout: the evening safari (four hours, starting at 2 PM), the morning safari (seven hours, starting at 5 AM), or the full-day safari (thirteen hours, dawn to dusk). Each one is a separate booking.
Do I need any experience or fitness level for this safari?
The safari suits most fitness levels, but you need to be comfortable sitting in a jeep on unpaved roads for several hours. It's not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnancy. Infants must sit on an adult's lap.
