The experience
You arrive at the Scuba Sur office to complete paperwork and a medical questionnaire, then meet your instructor for a comprehensive briefing on dive protocols, underwater communication and safety. Once geared up (the instructor handles all equipment), you enter the water with confidence. Your only job is to breathe, fin and stay present while your guide manages the dive itself, pointing out the underwater landscape and keeping you safe throughout.
The dive itself runs 25 to 30 minutes, long enough to settle into the rhythm of breathing underwater and absorb what's around you without the pressure of a longer commitment. If you want to capture the moment, you can rent a GoPro for an additional fee or bring your own waterproof camera. The instructor will help you frame shots between breaths.
The full excursion spans two hours, which includes gearing up, the briefing, the dive and surfacing. Public transportation reaches the location, and pickup is included in the booking. A medical questionnaire is required before you enter the water, confirming you're in good health. The operator screens for conditions like spinal injuries, pregnancy and cardiovascular concerns that would make diving unsafe.
