The experience
Amadores Bay sits only 15 minutes from Playa del Inglés, so the dive site is close enough that most of your three hours goes into the water rather than travel. A PADI-qualified instructor meets you at the base and walks through the day's logistics, the equipment you'll use, the marine life you're likely to see, and every safety step before you enter the water. The training happens in the bay itself: about 20 minutes of basic scuba skills in shallow water to get you comfortable with breathing underwater and moving with fins.
The dive itself runs roughly 40 minutes depending on how much air you use. Gran Canaria's waters hold angel sharks, a native species you're likely to encounter, along with other marine life the bay supports. The site is chosen for beginners: you'll descend to a maximum of 12 meters, which is deep enough to feel like a real dive but shallow enough that the instructor can keep close watch and the whole experience stays relaxed. No prior diving experience is required.
Hotel pickup is included, so you don't arrange transport from your accommodation. Full scuba equipment (wetsuit, tank, regulator, all of it) comes with the dive. A medical form must be completed when you arrive. If you answer yes to any health questions, you'll need a doctor's certificate before the dive can go ahead. Photos and videos of your dive are available to purchase after you surface.
