Anchor in hidden coves instead of fighting the crowded beach

Snorkeling in Mallorca aboard the Odin, a 15-meter sailboat departing from Palma's waterfront or Palmanova, where you swim and paddle in secluded bays while a skipper sails and a crew serves snacks and cold drinks. Choose a half-day, full-day or sunset departure; the boat holds up to 8 passengers and includes all gear, refreshments and onboard service.

The Experience

The Odin leaves from La Lonja Marina in central Palma—right in front of the cathedral—Sunday through Thursday, or from San Matías Pier in Palmanova on weekends. A skipper runs the boat, so you step aboard and the sailing begins without you needing to navigate or manage the rigging. The route is tailored to the conditions and your group: the crew sails to the most beautiful coves in the bay, drops anchor in shallow turquoise water, and you slip in to snorkel or paddle out on a board. No crowded entry points, no parking, no planning the route yourself.

Onboard, the crew brings out artisanal snacks, fresh fruit and cold drinks while you're anchored or between swims. The boat has a spacious outdoor deck, so there's room to dry off, stretch out and watch the water. You can book a half-day (morning or afternoon), a full day to cover more ground, or a two-hour sunset sail if you want a shorter outing. Infants sit on an adult's lap, and the boat is suitable for all fitness levels—you're swimming and paddling at your own pace in calm anchorages, not fighting current or distance.

The skipper service means the boat, the route and the timing are handled; you choose what you want to do at each stop. Snorkel the whole time, paddle for an hour then swim, or just float and soak in the bay. The flexibility is built in—you're not locked into a schedule of stops or a group activity plan. Pick your departure time and length when you book, and the crew adjusts the route to fit.

Top questions

What's the difference between the half-day, full-day and sunset options for snorkeling in Mallorca?

Half-day snorkeling runs either morning or afternoon and gives you time to reach two or three coves; full-day covers more ground and lets you explore deeper into the bay; sunset is a two-hour sail ideal for a shorter outing or a magical evening on the water. All three include the skipper, snacks and drinks.

Do I need snorkeling experience or my own gear to book this?

No experience is required—the crew teaches you how to use the equipment and you snorkel at your own pace in calm, anchored water. Gear is included; you don't bring your own.

Where exactly does the boat depart from, and how do I get there?

Sunday through Thursday, the Odin leaves from La Lonja Marina in the heart of Palma, directly in front of the cathedral. Fridays and Saturdays, it departs from San Matías Pier in Palmanova. Both are accessible by public transport or taxi.

Can I bring children or infants on the snorkeling trip?

Yes. Infants sit on an adult's lap, and specialized infant seats are available. The boat is suitable for all fitness levels, and the crew manages the sailing so families can focus on swimming and relaxing together.

What does the onboard service include?

The crew serves artisanal snacks, fresh fruit and cold drinks throughout the day while you're anchored or sailing between coves. You don't need to bring food or plan meals.

How many people fit on the boat, and is it private or shared?

The Odin holds up to 8 passengers, so groups stay small and intimate. You can book it as a private charter for your group or join other travelers; the operator will confirm the setup when you book.
