The experience

You board at Club de Mar, a short walk from Palma's cruise terminal, where the captain briefs you on safety and pours a welcome drink before casting off. The sail out takes about 90 minutes, giving you time to settle into the rhythm of the boat and watch the Mallorcan coastline recede. If the wind is right, the sails go up. Otherwise, the engine carries you to a quiet anchorage where the water stays clear enough to see straight down.

You have an hour at anchor to swim, snorkel the shallows, or paddle out on the board, or simply lie on deck and let the boat rock beneath you. The captain stays aboard. Snorkeling equipment and the paddleboard are there if you want them, and they're not if you don't. Cava, beer and soft drinks are cold, and tapas appear when you're ready to eat.

The sail back to Palma takes the same route in reverse, so you see the coast from a different angle as the afternoon or morning light shifts. The whole outing runs four hours from boarding to return. What happens if the wind isn't strong enough to sail?

The captain will use the engine to reach the anchorage if conditions don't allow for sails. Either way, you reach the same swimming spot and spend the same time there.

Is snorkeling equipment provided, or do I need to bring my own?

Snorkeling gear is included with the tour, along with a paddleboard if you want to use it. You don't need to bring anything for the water.
