Taste five mushroom creations and learn how they're grown

A mushroom tasting in Menorca where you try five artisanal dishes made from locally cultivated varieties, plus mushroom bread and a local drink. The experience runs about 90 minutes in a small, welcoming setting and covers the flavors, textures and growing methods behind each dish. A guide leads the tasting in English or Spanish, and you can book the tasting alone or add a separate guided tour of the cultivation site.

The experience

You arrive for a tasting built around five handmade mushroom dishes: orange and sage pickled mushrooms, bollet gulas (mushroom sprouts prepared like garlic eels), thistle mushroom candied with roasted vegetables, mushroom cannelloni with wonton paste and ginger, and a chocolate truffle with shiitake jam and truffle oil. Each one is designed to show a different way mushrooms can be transformed into gourmet food. The tasting also includes mushroom bread made in-house and a carefully chosen local drink: either an island beer or wine, or a soft drink made in Menorca.

The guide walks you through the characteristics of the mushroom species used in each dish and shares details about how they're cultivated and used in the kitchen. The setting is small and welcoming, built to combine learning with eating. The whole experience takes about 90 minutes. If you want to see where the mushrooms are actually grown, you can book a separate guided tour of the cultivation site. The tasting alone does not include that visit.
