Snorkel the east coast of Mallorca aboard a boat with a captain guide, stopping at multiple coves including Cala Varques, Cala Magraner and Cala Virgili where the water is clear enough to see the seabed. The excursion runs about two hours and includes snorkeling equipment; guides speak English, Spanish, French and German.
The Experience
The boat leaves from the east coast and works its way through a string of coves that most visitors never reach by land. You'll pass Cala Varques, Cala Magraner, Cala Virgili and others—each one smaller and quieter than the last—before the captain picks a stop where the water is shallow and still. That's where you slip in with the mask and fins already fitted, and the seabed comes into focus a few meters down.
Two hours is enough to motor between three or four named coves, spend time in the water at one or two of them, and still have room to swim and float without rushing. The boat itself handles the route; you handle the snorkel. Equipment is provided, so there's nothing to rent separately or pack from home. The captain knows which coves have the calmest entry and the most to see underwater, and speaks your language—English, Spanish, French or German.
Service animals are welcome on board. Public transportation runs near the departure point if you're not driving, and the pace suits all fitness levels—there's no hiking, no current to fight, and you can stay in the water as long as you want or sit on deck and watch instead.
